The paparazzi - Barry M - Silk

Barry M Silk Collection
In the picture from left to right: Blossom, Pearl, Truffle, Meadow, Mist, and Heather.
Barry M says:
Silk's beautiful matte sheen gives nails a luxurious, chic finish. In a collection of pretty pastel shades inspired by nature, it's the perfect polish for a fresh take on Spring.

Just spotted these at Boots, and they are £3.99 ea.

At first glance I am not overly impressed with this collection, and the colours are much the same as the Gelly polishes just with a pearlecent sheen to it.

Have you tried them, or are you going to buy them?
Let me know in the comment section below.

W7 - Space Dust

W7 - Space Dust, is another polish from the Space Collection.
As you know I have previously shown you Space Debris.

W7 - Space Dust is a teal based polish with micro glitters. It looks a little more teal than I managed to capture on camera, the pictures makes it look a bit more blue.
England isn't always that sunny, so this was taken on a cloudy day. It happens. I am thinking about investing in a daylight lamp and a light-box. Would you recommend it?

I am getting a visitor over from the South, and she is staying for a couple of days. I am looking forward to see her again, haven't seen her since her wedding. So is going to be great to have her staying.

W7 - Cosmic Black

I have now added a widget to the right here ----> so that you can follow me on G+ .

Hi everyone. Today I have another glitter swatch. W7 - Cosmic Black, a close-on dupe for the Illamasqua - Creator (Generation Q collection).  Cosmic Black is a black jelly with tiny silver glitter that dries to a semi-matte finish.
This is not a new polish as all, last time I heard anyone mention it, was probably 4 years ago. I have never found it in a store, until quite recently, when my local Factory Outlet added a huge load of W7 polishes. I think it's cause I have bought all the good polishes they had, and they needed a restock. Seriously (?!) my Factory Outlet is amazing, I have found so many polishes there. Like couple of weeks ago, I found OPI - Spotted (only £6 ea). It's epic.

As always I use PVA glue underneath the glitter to make it easier to remove it later. I mixed it in a 15 ml bottle and added about 2 ml with water. If you are interested in seeing my post where I first tried PVA glue for glitter removal, the post is here.

Let's get over to the pictures. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Is there still room for W7 - Cosmic Black in the polish world?

There is so much silver shimmer going on here, it's amazing.

IsaDora Sugar Crush - 108 Wine Crush

I am on a roll on these sugar crush/coat polishes now a days.
Today I bring you Wine Crush by IsaDora. It's purple, pink, brown and golden, it's shiny and sooo pretty!

I  am so glad it's almost weekend, it feels like this week as been going on forever. Luckily, next week is going to be busy busy busy. I got a photoshoot booked, and it's been a year or so since I last did some modeling, so it's great to be back to doing that again. I am also meeting up with some cool people that is going to show me the town I now live in. Time to learn where all the good shops are, where to go dust-hunting for polishes etc.

Back to the world of polishes, here is Wine Crush:

Sally Hansen - Sugar Coat - Sour Apple

Today I have a swatch out for you from the Sugar Coat collection by Sally Hansen.
This is Sour Apple, a minty green polish.

I bought three Sugar Coats from Sally Hansen here the other day. I found them at Poundland for.. well... a pound each.

This one didn't turn out as "sugary" as Sally Hansen - Sweetie did. I followed the instructions on the back: it stated you needed to use two thin coats, and that is what I did here. It might have needed more shaking before use.

Sally Hansen - Sugar Coat - Sweetie

This manicure is very Easter-ish. Pastel Yellow.
It just shouts Easter to me. I don't think that (yellow) is a colour that will ever be anything else to me. I know I am a bit late on this trend, but, oh well.

I bought three Sugar Coats from Sally Hansen here the other day. I found them at Poundland for.. well... a pound each. They also had a black one, but opted out on it. Wasn't quite sure what I would use it for. And as I had a white one (Sugar Fix) making a black would be easy.

I decided to swatch Sweetie first. I don't often wear yellow polish, but I think everyone should own at least a couple polishes in the colour. Instructions on the back says to use two thin coats, so that is what i have done on these pictures.

Graffiti Nail II

I wanted to do something different and fun with the graffiti nails I did, so I thought why not add stamping over it. After a long discussion about what plate to use, and what colour. I landed on  Cheeky - Top Of The Class plate, using W7 - White.
W7 - White didn't really deliver on the manicure department, but it sure works well as a stamping polish.

Let's have a look at the Before picture:

And the After pictures:
I used Maybelline - 140 as a basecolour, dabbed the foil over. Then I added a coat of Gina Tricot topcoat, before stamping ( I had been wearing the manicure for a week before I decided to stamp on it)

I wore this for another three days before I got bored with it and needed change. What do you think?

Graffiti Nails - TGR foil review

I found this foil in a TGR shop in Norway, there was a set of 4 foils for Kr. 10 / £1.
They don't need any special foil glue, like the other foils got, so I just had to try them out.
For about a pound its pretty cheap, but would they work? Would it be cool looking?

I didn't think much about it, until I started unpacking and found them in a small plastic bag in one of my trolleys. I pondered upon it for a while and decided to give them a try. The set game with a three metallics (gold, blue and pink) and one multicoloured one. The multicoloured one kinda looked like oil-spill.

How to use:
The instructions are pretty easy. Apply nail polish of choice, and when it gets tacky add foil. To whole nails, or just parts.

I decided to dab it on my nails to create a random effect like graffiti. I used Maybelline - 140 as base colour for this design.

I wore this for a week, and it was as pretty as the day I applied it.
For the record of all things foil. I used Gina Tricot Basecoat and Topcoat for this manicure. They had a 3 for KR 99,- (about £ 10,-) sale while I was in Norway and grabbed a few to try.

Eye Be Watching You

Ages ago, or shall we say a year ago, my friend Mishka (Lacquer of Leave Her!) made an Egyptian manicure that kind of stuck to my memory. Golden glitter polish with the Eye of Ra/ Eye of Horus (wha-ever you wanna call it). There was also hieroglyphs, but since I don't have a stamping plate with that, I decided to have some fun (hopefully not making any Egyptian Era fans out there angry with me).

I used W7 - Golden Shimmer as base, and stamped with MASH 36 using Wet n Wild - Black.
Golden Shimmer covered in two coats. I also tried a technique I never have done before. Mirror-image stamping. It was about time really. I haven't fully mastered it yet, but a first attempt was over-due.

What do you think?

Sally Hansen - Save the Date

This polish is so full of shine, and the sun seems to love it. It's a lovely deep burgundy wine with pearlescent magenta shimmer. Only needed two coats for full opacity. I wore this for a dinner party with a white shirt and a burgundy knitted sweater over, and black jeans. Got loads of compliments on the look.
This polish is one of those that will make you look awesome no-matter what you are wearing, it's just so vampy and sexy, it practically radiates.

My Nail Storage and Nailstation/space

Like all stories, this one starts with a table, some nail polish, and the question
"How can I utilize my nail area the best?"

It's great having a flat, and one of the things I HAD to have was a Helmer drawer unit from IKEA. I started with just getting one, but by the look of things I will be needing another unit very very urgently, and that SOON!

I was surprised how easy it was to assemble. I did try to push the flips with my fingers at first, but found out fast why you should not do that, as I broke a nail.

The polishes are organised by color, and type, but as you can see, I need more drawers to do it properly.
So for now, pinks, reds and purples goes together, and white, black, grey, yellow and orange in one drawer. I have kept all the glitters, and effect polishes in one drawer. Not sure if I will keep it like this, or organize it differently later. Will see.

I am trying to find out how to decorate it. The room leads to the garden so I want to capture some of the garden into the room. I bought a green couch, and it made the room soooo much better, so I kinda wanna go in the same direction of home improvement.

Nail Station with clutter

I am also planning on building a wall unit to add some shelf-space for my stripers and tools, as well as giving room for my books and movies. As you can  see there is still loads more stuff to go in boxes, and drawers here.

Sinful Color - Savage

Hello everyone. I am sorry for being MIA here for a while, but I have finally settled in my flat, and sorted internet out. Which took, like, forever. Had to wait for an installer for 6 weeks, and another couple of days for my hub to arrive. I survived, and back online, and back to blogging (as some of you might have noticed)

A while back I picked up Savage from a Sinful Color display, and it got forgotten among a lot of other things when I was packing up my things. Now that I have unpacked most of my belongings I have uncovered a small mountain of nail polishes, and it's about time they get some love.

I was surprised when this polish turned matte on me, I did not know it was a matte at all. In the bottle it just looked kinda dull, but it transformed into this awesome almost "blackboard finish" looking blue.

H&M Gold/white glitter

While everyone in England and Wales is stuck to TV screens in the much anticipated rugby match of the year, the England vs. Wales. I am sitting here, enjoying the sun outside, drinking tea and writing about nails.
Will the turnout be anything like last year (Wales 30 - 3 England), or will the English get their revenge on the homefield? Time will tell.
I am more in aww over this glittery polish.

While on Christmas holiday in Norway I picked up this glittery polish from H&M.
I was originally going to wear a undie, but decided to try it out on its own.

If I had used a dark undie for this polish, I think it would have looked a little bit like looking at a town from afar while it's snowing. The houses giving of a golden glow here and there, but all you can really see is the darkness of the night and the white of the snow.
