Mosaic Tiles

Contains affiliate link.  Contains product previously sent for reviewing purposes.

Long long time ago I bought some cool nail polishes from W7 at my local outlet store in Wales. I have used two of them, and for some strange reason I have not used this one.

I decided that the least I could do, would be to have a swatch of it on my blog. As soon as I got it on, I knew I had to do some nail art, and that is how this design was created.

W7 - Mosaic

I grabbed my striping brushes and made some random lines, making it look like mosaic tiles in a bathroom. Following on this vibe I rummaged around my stamping plates for something appropriate and found this little bird that I think fits the "mosaic bathroom" -vibe perfectly.

The bird was on BornPrettyStore Qgirl - 032 - (Bird Animal Pattern Nail Art Stamp Template Image Plate Pattern #Qgirl-032) I stamped using my trusted Sinful Color - Snow Me White.

W7 - Mosaic - stripes in L.A. Color - Splash and bird is from BornPrettyStore Qgirl - 032, stamped in Sinful Color - Snow Me White.
I was starting to run a bit low on Sinful Color - Snow Me White, and was getting a bit stressy over it as I have yet to find it in Northern Ireland, but luckily I managed to snatch with me 2 when I was in Finland a while back.

I have also done these nails using this plate:

Bright Summer Flowers

I received this product of my own choosing, free of charge for my honest, non-bias review from the Born Pretty Store.

I wanted to do another bright summery design, it's been great weather here in Northern Ireland lately, and I wanted to celebrate with some bright nails as well.

I recently received some stamping plates from BornPrettyStore for review and among those was the Qgirl - 022 plate.
While I was organizing my stash of nail polishes and swatching sticks I came up with this great combination using Barry M - Superdrug Limited Edition Yellow, Maybelline - Street Artist - Boom Box Black and L.A. Color - Splash. The Qgirl - 022 gave me just the image I had been wanting to use for this combo.

Maybelline Street Artist - Boom Box Black:
Clear base with large and medium black and green hex glitters, small green bar glitters, and tiny round black and green glitters.

The lighting was acting up a little so here is a picture from last summer showing how Barry M - Superdrug Limited Edition Yellow looks like.

Barry M - Superdrug Limited Edition Yellow

I was very happy to have several stampers for this design. It would have taken too long, if I had only had one stamper head. With more on their way I am quickly approaching 6 stampers (!), and a month back I only had 2...
Making decals is so much fun, and for this design it gave me the placement of glitter, just the way I wanted, without it interfering with the stamped image.

I stamped using Sinful Color - Snow Me White, filled in using L.A. Color - Splash, and dabbed some Maybelline - Street Artist - Boom Box Black around the flower.

The Qgirl - 022 plate has a nice selection of flowers. I think most of the flowers on this plate will fit great for "scandinavian designs" (see what I mean here), but will also work great for more colourful displays like the one I did today.  The Chic Flower Nail Art Stamp Template Image Plate Pattern #Qgirl-022 sells for $ 2.99.

Candy Love

Now that I have discovered the wonders of PVA glue, I have got another glitter manicure for you girls. This is L.A Colors - Candysprinkles. I recently picked it up at my local pharmacy, they had a stack of L.A. Colors in for a pound. This was the only glitter polish they had, so I picked it up.

I stamped using Barry M - Fuchsia, and Cheeky Jumbo Plate 8 - Princess Charming.

L.A. Colors - Candysprinkles is a sheer bubblegum pink base with red microglitter, small round sky blue, silver, and green glitter with larger white, green, purple and copper orange hex glitters
(from what I can see in there).

One coat.

Two coats.

Three coats.

The stamping didn't turn out quite as I have expected it to, it went on sheered that I thought, but I am quite pleased with the overall look. Definitely girly.
Let me know what you think in the comment box below.

If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

I'm a bit late with posting this one, 3 hours according to UK-times. Sorry for that, but here it is.
It's the Cheeky Girls Challenge with Lacquer or Leave Her!

I have been in the philosophical corner lately. Ended up, at random, debating Descartes with a man I hardly know, whilst on my travels in Edinburgh , Scotland, previously this week. Hench the title of the post.
What do you think about the classical philosophical question? Give me your thoughts in the comments below.

It's time for CH50!!
I wanted to play this image up a little. Do something special.

How about doing a nail art using just one color family? That sounds like fun, right?
I pondered on this, long and hard. My big box o greens was pulled out, and I looked them over. Trying to figure which to match, how many, what shades to use...
Ended up with Essie - Mojito Madness, Essie - Navigate Her, and L.A. Color - Current.
After debating order, we all agreed on using L.A Color - Current as a base color.

I also did an accent using Essie - Mojito Madness over L.A. Color - Current, while I used Essie - Navigate Her, on the other nails. Stamped with the opposite color.

It needed 2-3 coats to be this even.

Adding some striping tape, to Jazz it up.

Going eco friendly.

Summer Challenge - Fruit Salad

So this was also one of the Challenges I just didnt have time for, when it arrived.
But here it is.

I used a ton (!) of polish for this.

ESSIE - Licorice  (dots on strawberry)
FNUG - Clogs (dotted grapes)
FNUG - Bandana (dotted blueberry)
L´oreal - Green Couture (leaves on strawberry, top on banana and random "grass")
H&M - Red Nail ( Strawberry)
H&M - Yellow (banana)
Rimmel - Chic Cherry ( grapes)
L.A. Colors - Current (base color)

You might not see what I had in my mind making this, but even thou, its really pretty.
So lets just enjoy the view.

L.A. Colors - Current

Quick swatch of L.A. Colors - Current.

Reminds me of the coverage and shimmery-ness of the likes of  Max Factor Sunny Pink, and Sunny Blue, only difference is that this is green.

This is three coats.

Summer Challenge - Bastille Day

Bonne fĂȘte nationale!

When I heard we where doing a Bastille Day - mani for the Summer Challenge, I knew I had to, somehow, incorporate something french, and not just the flag, like I did for the 4th of July - mani. I don't have "french" stamps either, so it had to be free-hand.

Lets take a look.

I started out painting my nails in Blue, White, and Red, like the French Flag.  I was really hoping that LA Color, would be the right shade of blue, but by the look of it, it`s a miss.

Then I took out my new stripers, and went from simple nail art, to crazy. Even my bf approved of it, to be some of my best work.

Taken in the sunset. Ye,bright.

Its Bastille! Formally know and Bastille Saint-Antoine.
For Bastille Day, I have painted a "bastille" (fortress), named Bastille Saint-Antoine.

HaHa
I`m so funny...
