GuestPost - Be Happy And Buy Polish

Hi everyone!
Jessica here from Be Happy And Buy Polish. When Dina needed some guest posters for when her baby comes, of course I wanted to help out since I'm also (as of this writing) expecting a baby any day now! Us preggos gotta help each other out. ;)

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Euna cold state, Girly Bits Cosmetics Sep-timber | Be Happy And Buy Polish

Today I have some nail art featuring Femme Fatale Cosmetics Euna and Girly Bits Cosmetics Sep-timber. I've been watching some of Sveta's Nail Art videos and have wanted to try some drag nail art.

I started with 3 coats of Euna on my pointer and pinky fingers. Euna is a thermal polish that shifts from a pink-beige when warm to brown to olive green when cold. This applies nicely but sheer and dries matte.

On my middle and ring fingers, I started with one coat of Sep-timber and let dry. Then I applied a thick coat of Sep-timber and dotted with Euna; working quickly I dragged the dots around.

I love that on my ring finger, the dots ended up looking like leaves - which believe me, I did not intend! LOL :) I was just happy this didn't turn out as a hot mess. I hope you enjoyed my guest post today, if you'd like to take a gander at my blog, I regularly post there, on instagram and Facebook.

Thanks for having me, Dina!

Uber Chic Beauty - Fairytale 01

A while ago I purchased the Über Chic Beauty - Fairytale 01 stamping plate directly from their shop. Since then Über Chic Beauty plates have also become available from She Sells Seashells  a nail art shop in the UK.  This cuts down on shipping and VAT cost for us UK people, and I am very happy for that.

I had been pondering for a while which image to use from this plate, and settled on something cute, since Valentine's is coming up very soon.

I have really wanted to use more of my indie polishes and this time I got Girly Bits - Promise Me. This is actually one of the few mini polishes that I have, for a long time it used to be the only one and had a special place in a small Plexiglas Box for displaying purpose.

Girly Bits - Promise Me is such a pretty soft pink polish with small hex glitters. There was still some VNL after 2 coats, but I am sure that would have been sorted with one more coat. It was not visible to the naked eye, you really needed to turn a macro camera at it to see.

I used my Clear Jelly Stamper to line up the "Princess" image on my ring- and little finger. The image was taken at an angle where you can't really tell that it is written twice on each nail, but I am so happy with how it turned out.
I think I am starting to get the hang of the usage of the Clear Jelly Stamper.
I also purchased one with a clear holder, and I think that works a lot better than the purple holder.

Girly Bits - PAA Scandinavia Custom - Scandilous

Last year, the Facebook group for Scandinavian Nail Polish Lovers also called PAA Scandinavia, decided to get a nail polish that would be ours. One that we could join around and love, together.
Several month of discussions and asking different makers, the choice landed on Girly Bits, and she made us Scandilous.

If you are from one of the Scandinavian countries and not a member, follow the link and join us.
They might be the best group of enablers I know.

Girly Bits - PAA Scandinavia Custom - Scandilous is a very lovely shade of blue, and it has some small hex glitters in it. I think it looks perfect with my pale skin.

I noticed the reflection of this polish on my desk while working, with tiny shiny lights dancing over my desk as I was typing. I wanted to amp it up and added some glitters.

Ages ago, I bought a stack of loose glitters to use for nail art, today is the first time I use it. Like any good hoarder, I have kept it in my stash all this time, for this moment.

I added a couple of them using a fanbrush while the topcoat was tacky. After I was happy with the result, I added another layer of topcoat. I am amazed over how well this polish and glitter help up. It survived a couple of rounds doing dishes and handling laundry.

Now when I type in the office there are tiny reflections all over my desk. Quite lovely distraction.

My first indie polishes

I was very quick to dip my toes in the indie world.I was not so good at staying there, and actually using them. A bit over 3 years ago, I posted on this blog about my indie haul. 3 years. Imagine that...
Long time ago.

My first indie - haul

But it was going to take awhile until I tried them all. Matter of fact, I still have not tried them all.
Girly Bits - Wet Bikini and Girly Bits - Promise Me, are both still untrieds(!!!).
The original reason was the hassle with glitter removals, so they just stayed in their box, later they moved into a Helmer, and there they stayed. Never tried, never loved.
I feel sorry for them. So I will definitely take them out and put them on my talons, soon.
I hope.
It's on my to-do-list. I will get there.

I am quite embarrassed over my old swatching pictures, so I will be doing new pictures of them as well.

The reason for this trip down Memory Lane, is because I wanted to show you all that #itrustindiepolish

My indie collection might not be as large as many others, but lately (since the whole Mentality thing blew up), I have made a point to order more indies. So the next month or so, I will mainly focus on indie nail polishes, and show them to you in all their glory.

As long as they are fully disclosing ingredients, and do testing, I don't see the problem.
If you where to have a problem with a polish, you would be able to point to what you reacted to.
Open and honest communication all around.

Raise your hand with me and say: I Trust Indie Polish

OMG Indie Nail Mail

I came back home after a shopping trip, and found not one, but two packaged in my mail.
I ran up all the stairs, which is a lot of steps, since I live on the 5th floor.
Hastily threw my bag on the floor, snapped my camera, and opened the packaging.

Weeeeeee!!!

One from Cult Nails, and from a girl I bought some polishes from on a nail-forum.

Lets take a look at what I got from Cult Nails.

Enigmatic

I am looking forward to use these two babes.

And what did I get from my little forum-haul?

She gifted the rhinestones you see at the top, and assorted fimo-sticks. I cant wait to try that!
And look at the indies!! My firsts!

I am so happy now.
