Little Miss Piggy

I have seen this hashtag around with #boyfriendpicksmypolish, and I wanted to do it as well.
So I brought him in to the nail room, and asked him to choose a drawer in my Helmers, and pick a polish.

He selected Barry M - Gelly - Dragon.

I didn't want it to be too easy, and just do a plain manicure with this polish, so I asked him to choose an image from my stamping plates. I started with showing him my Cheeky plates, and his eyes found this little piggy on the Cheeky - Jumbo Plate 9 - Wild At Heart (check the link for a full view of the plate).
So I suppose that means I gotta have to show some Piggy-love on my nails. Who better to take inspiration from, than Miss Piggy and do something girly.

I used W7 - White as a background, and stamped the little piggy on my middle finger using Barry M - Gelly - Dragon. The image didn't stamp very well, and showed up very faint on my nails. The lines on the head of the piggy are just too thin.
I redotted the eyes, and took a striping brush and did some lines for the body, and added a button.

On the rest of the nails I made animal prints using a small angled brush.

So there you go! I have done the #boyfriendpicksmypolish for the first time. What do you think?

Graffiti Nail II

I wanted to do something different and fun with the graffiti nails I did, so I thought why not add stamping over it. After a long discussion about what plate to use, and what colour. I landed on  Cheeky - Top Of The Class plate, using W7 - White.
W7 - White didn't really deliver on the manicure department, but it sure works well as a stamping polish.

Let's have a look at the Before picture:

And the After pictures:
I used Maybelline - 140 as a basecolour, dabbed the foil over. Then I added a coat of Gina Tricot topcoat, before stamping ( I had been wearing the manicure for a week before I decided to stamp on it)

I wore this for another three days before I got bored with it and needed change. What do you think?

Suede Effects

I am a huge lover of blues, so when I noticed that my local Factory Shop had a blue Suede Effect nail polish from W7, I knew I had to have it. Specially so, since it was the last one they had.
Additionally I also picked up Night Suede, a black suede.
These are my first Suede Effect nail polishes, and I have to say, I'm in love. I'm going back to get the rest. Not sure they got the entire collection, but I noticed they had the brown and the purple at least. So you might see those features here soon.

I'm thinking swatches, and do maybe do some stamping on top? I haven't done stamping in a while, been so busy trying out all these new polishes I bought, and they have all been glitters.
Stamping over glitters? Not there yet.

I think this is the longest I will ever have my nails. They look very good with this length, but I feel like I am at my max, when it comes to how long I can have them, and not break them.

I have been taking good care of them lately, applying pure Argan Oil every day, and keeping my hands moisturized.

I started out with one (!) coat of W7 - Night Suede, and W7 - Aqua Suede. It's amazing, one coaters. And they look so gorgeous. I stamped using Bundlemonster plate BM-316, with W7 - White. then I added a pearl drop.

Google was so kind to make me an Auto-Awesome for this post.
Auto-Awesome is a collection of 5 or more similar pictures being put together into a little caption movie. There is no saying which pictures he will use, but this one looked pretty neat.

Sally Hansen - Lavender Marquis

I wanted a subtle manicure today. Something soft and girly. I recently picked up Sally Hansen - Lavender Marquis at my local Factory Shop, and decided to use that.

I wanted to layer it over a white to really make it pop. W7 - White, was just not agreeing with me, There was flooding, there was tears. It just didn't want to go off my cuticles, and then there is the bubbles...  I'm terrible sorry for that.

I really like the Sally Hansen bottles, they have this little gem on them, and they just look so cheek, and sexy.
I would describe Lavender Marquis as a shimmery baby pink with a hint of purple, a girl at MakeupAlly also described it as dusty rose petal with purple hues and metallic light pink. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
I think it would rock over a black.

I forgot to take a picture of the first step, so just using a picture from another manicure.

Step out of the box

Often when we talk about being creative, we talk about "stepping outside of the box". To be honest, we now spend so much time "outside the box", I'm not even sure what's in the box anymore. It's like a Schrodinger's Cat thing.

It was the night before Summer Solstice, I was sitting up late watching the night sky.
I came up with this piece of nail art.

What do you think? I know, It's super silly. HaHa.

I is for Incognito

This is the manicure I made for my date this weekend.
I wanted something subtle, yet pretty. Classy, but not over the top, when it came to nail art, and still not a normal french.

Funny enough. This manicure reminds me of a dice-set I have for RPG's. Its the same shimmer in it.

For this manicure I used Depend French manicure set, for the white tips, and Misa - Candy Girl as base coat. I used two coats of that.

Guest post - Katie (Missy's Mani's)

Hi everyone!

Dina is away visiting her father this weekend and so I stepped in to do a guest post for her! Dina is such a lovely girl and I love how creative her nail art is and so I'm really pleased to be doing this for her :)

I decided to go with a nice floral design for this post as personally I don't think you can beat a lovely floral manicure!

I started out with a base colour of Boots no7 - Vivid violet and sponged on both Sinful colors - Daddy's girl and Rimmel - Disco ball to the top left and bottom right areas of my nail.

Then I topped it off with Seche vite and created the flowers and details with acrylic paint and added another layer of Seche vite.

I'm loving how this turned out as I literally just added to it as I went along. I like how the white flowers pop against the dark purple background.

I hope you've all enjoyed this post, I've really enjoyed putting it together :)

Thanks for looking!

French Tips using Depend - set

Found some old pictures from a blog-post that I never posted, but here it is.

I have to say, for being so cheap, this set it very good. I payed about 5 pounds for this set.
The topcoat is one of those that takes forever to dry ( I`m usually using Linda Johansen Quick Dry Topcoat, so everything more that a quick dry, is forever, it really doesn't take more than a few min.), but once it does, it gives a lot of shine, and it last forever, no chipping or anything. And this lasted me for a week, and then I got bored of it.

The set comes with French tip guides, a topcoat, a pink base, and a french white.

Summer Challenge - Ladybirds

As todays challenge, we where going to make Ladybird / Ladybug. So here is my take on the challenge.

For this mani I used NYX Matte - Red, Wet n Wild - Creme Black and Depend - French White ( for the eyes). I finished this mani pretty late so I missed the sun, will see if I can get a better picture with some sunlight tomorrow morning.

Cupcakes Nail Art

For this mani I used a dotting tool, a Warhammer pencil, for the base of the cupcake ( stole it from my boyfriend ), French White from H&M,  NYX Matte Baby Pink, ESSIE -  Little Brown Dress, and a rhinestone from the BM -set I just got.

I didn't want all my nails to have cupcakes on them, so I left the thumb and pinky painted in ESSIE - Little Brown Dress.

Would you ever wear cupcakes on your nails?
