K is for Kit Kat

I am so trilled over how this manicure turned out. It will be sad to have to remove it.
I haven't done much freehand manicures since I started with this, but lately I have been drawn to my brushes and pencils, and nail art pens and stripers.

First I painted my nails two coats of Snow Me White - Sinful Color.
Then I went in with a medium pencil and Red Nail - H&M, and did a reverse writing. That means that I only left the gaps that would make the word, and not actually writing anything, just fill out the space around the word. I build it up slowly letter for letter. Tried to get them somewhat alike, and straight.
I allowed it to try for a while, and then when in again with Snow Me White - Sinful Color to correct any mistakes done with the letters. It's not perfect, but I did my best.

After being bent over my left hand for a good 2 hours, I decided to keep my right hand white with random lines of red on them. They remind me of candy, or a simple watermarble. It got some charm.

J is for Jungle

I made a Jungle mani  last year, and I was organizing my stash when I discovered that I had a few untrieds in my green box. I grabbed them out, and played around with them a bit on a swatching wheel before deciding on what to do. And since I stopped on the ABC Challenge on "I" before the holidays, I decided to pick it up again.

Camo.

ESSIE - Navigate Her
Dearlee - 27 Sea Green (Born Pretty Store)

The idea on the swathing wheel

Spark up the Russian Sage

Spark Me Up - Russian Sage mix today. Not pink, but lilac with some pink shimmer.

2 coats of Misa - Russian Sage, and dabbed on some H&M - Spark Me Up.
Drying time was a bit long with Russian Sage, and was still semi wet 30 min later. Looking at the colour makes it so worth it.
Spark Me Up was a fun and easy to work with glitter. It looks like a tiny firework display. I bet its great over black.

Daddy you're Hot Stuff!

I am still in the mood for girly manicures, and pink is the girly-est thing I know, so that's the color I will use.
I have been eyeing Models Own - Hot Stuff for a while, and wanted to implement it in this.
Seeing the result, I am very pleased in how it turned out.

I did not do step by step pictures for this manicure. It was made on a whim, and I wasn't expecting it to turn out well, so didn't bother to stop and take pictures.

For this manicure I used:
ESSIE - Sugar Daddy
Max Factor - Sunny Pink
Models Own - Hot Stuff
2 pink 2-way striper/pens (no-name brand)

First I used a coat of Sugar Daddy all over the nail. I dabbed on Sunny Pink on the top of my nails to remove the VNL, and add some shine. I used the stripers to make random lines to make it all go together. I was trying to mimic the swirls seen on galaxy-nails, just with pinks.

Since I was going to watch Star Wars that day, I added some Hot Stuff from Models Own, as if I just blew Death Star to smithereens.

Oldies - L'oreal 178 Bordeaux Noir

I have had this polish for as long as I can remember. Its always been in a drawer, or box in my room since I was a young girl. Today I decided to see what it was like. It needed two drops of thinner, and is all restored to former glory. I can't remember ever wearing this before now. Now that I have seen it, I really like it.

Deep red, it almost look brown/black in some lights.
From what I have gathered around internet is that Rimmel - 541 - Highland is a dupe.

I Love Polish

As if that was a surprise.

Back in town, and back into blogging.
I start this year with a Challenge me and Mishka started last year. The Cheeky Girl Challenge.
Here we take 1 plate, 1 image, each Friday, and make a manicure out of it.
Giving you ideas on what to use all the plates for, and to challenge us to actually try something new, and  not just use a few of the images in a set, but to use them ALL.

This Friday is CH *stops mid typing looking around for her plates*
CH40, we choose the tiny image to the bottom right with "I <3 polish".

I choose something suitable girly for this and used three pinks.

1 coat of Candy Girl - Misa
Added some striping tape and Orly - Preamp over.
Removed the tape and stamped using Barry M - Fuschia.

I am back from the land of Snow

I am back from Winterland, also called Norway by many. There was unbelievable amounts of snow, and it made me so happy. I got to spend some time with all my best friends and family in Norway.
I was only gone for 16 days, but it feels like half a year looking back on it.

I will show you what it looked like.

We had fire running in the fireplace, the soothing sound of wind howling outside, and the comfort of the warmth inside. Great food, and company. Can a girl ask for more, for Christmas?

I also got some nice presents for Christmas. One of my dates sent me 3 kgs of bath bombs from Lush (!!), a trip to Rome, Italy at the end of January. I also got some nail polish, will show those later. :)
My landlord has given me shelves, a hair dryer, and body butter from Body Shop (!!)
And I realized I had forgotten my camera in Dublin. Bummer. Will borrow a camera until I get it back. Somehow.

Cant wait to get back into blogging!

Did you get anything nice for Christmas?

Beth's Blue Flowers

For this manicure I used Beth's Blue from Models Own.
I got it a few months ago, but haven't gotten around to try it yet.

It was about time.

The lady that worked at Models Own BottleShop, London told me to get this color, as it was one of her favorites. I cant say I'm impressed with it, specially not for someones favorite ... I think the color is just a bit off, for my skintone. Maybe that's why I don't like it?

I took some rhinestones i had on my desk, from a previous manicure, and looked at the other rhinestones in the set, and decided to go with some flowers today.

Rhinestones bought from Bundlemonster.

And I added a stem and a leaf with a striper from my striping set that I got from Ebay.
