Colourful fields

I received this product of my own choosing, free of charge for my honest, non-bias review from the Born Pretty Store.

I have been organizing my collection and swatching them out on swatching sticks, while all of this was happening my nail room was filled with polishes over all surfaces. Organized into brands, in somewhat alphabetical order (more on this in a later post).

So when I received my review box from BornPrettyStore, I was inspired to use as many polishes I could within one brand, and therefor not mess up my entire system while doing so.

That is how this accent design was born.

For this manicure I used Qgirl-032 from BornPrettyStore, Barry M - Gelly - Paprika as base colour. I stamped using WetnWild - Black Creme, and filled in my accent using; Barry M - Superdrug Limited Edition Yellow, Barry M - Vintage Violet, Barry M - Gelly - Mustard, Barry M - Gelly - Mango, Barry M - Gelly - Chilli, Barry M - Gelly - Dragon, Barry M - Beery I/C, Barry M - Fuschia, Barry M - Gelly - Blueberry, Barry M - Gelly - Blue Grape and Barry M - Gelly - Plum.

Phuu, that is a long list.

Fuschia to brighten your day

We all have those days where we just need a quick "pick-me-upper".

Did anyone other than me start humming the "fixer-upper" song from Frozen? No? suppose it's just me then...

Yupp, that is me, making a snowman. Deal with it. Hehe. 

There has been loads of snow in Norway lately, and I kinda wish I was there. Here in Northern Ireland, things are just grey, and cold. Not much snow left on the mountain, as the temperature has been just above 0. The picture above was taken while there was snow on the mountain, and I ran up... well if you call waddling like a penguin running. To my defense I wore my Norwegian (in case of extreme weather) overall. It was NOT cold enough for that.

Back to nail polish, shall we. Try not to imagine me waddling over snowy mountains.

For this manicure swatch, I did one coat of Barry M - Fuschia on my index finger, and two coats on the rest. This shade is perfect for a pick-me-upper when the world is grey and cold. I know it cheers me up. Hopefully this post cheered you up a little as well.

Dupe or no dupe: L'oreal 406 - Burgundy Diva vs. Models Own - Magenta Pearl

Welcome to this segment, for dupe or no dupe.

Nah.
As you know, I bought a huge bunch for polishes while in the UK, and when I got back home, I found out that 4 polishes looked like some of the ones I had before.

They where:
1. L'oreal 404 - Scarlet Vamp vs. Models Own - Red Red Wine
2. L'oreal 406 - Burgundy Diva vs. Models Own - Magenta Pearl
3. H&M Coral vs. Miss Sporty 452
4. 17 - Midnight Sapphire vs. Misa - A Sin Worth Commiting


So lets take a look at nr. 2. Burgundy Diva, and Magenta Pearl.

On this picture, you can actually tell that they are not a dupe, but in sunlight, they did look the same. 

Wearing, from R to L:

L'oreal Burgundy Diva, Models Own Magenta Pearl, L'oreal Burgundy Diva,  Models Own Magenta Pearl

L'oreal Burgundy Diva is a one coat color, with a C-brush. Easy to apply.
Models Own Magenta Pearl is a thin polish, great for layering. I used three coats on the picture, and it darkens ever so slightly for each coat.

Since it wasn't a dupe I though it would be a nice thing to do some nail art over it, to make it up.

I used Barry M - 302 - Fushia.
