Hobby Polish Bloggers presents: Halloween
My last Halloween manicure was such a success that I decided to do another one. I understand you want to see more of them, so I deliver to you, a Zombie pond. *cue scary music* So with the girls at Hobby Polish Blogger, I present to you: Halloween.
For this manicure I used Sally Hansen - 540 - Jell-ous? to help out on the decal making I started out with two coats on the Uber Chic stamping mat, and did one stamp and continued to build Sally Hansen - 540 - Jell-ous? between the stamps.
All in all I used 9 coats on the index finger with one to two arms for each layer of polish. Ring finger and middle finger had 5 coats and my little finger had the least amount of coats with only 4 coats (!!) I also applied some splatter using Makeup Mekka - Strawberry Daiquiri on the second layer before using the splatter.

HPB Presents: Halloween a Zombie Pond |
For those of you that are curious I have attached below the image plate and marked the different sections used for this look.
I really like the zombies on your nails.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D
DeleteI am on a bit of a Zombie overload at the moment.
I had to go look up SH's Jell-ous? So perfect for this mani. I absolutely LOVE the mass of hands......so cool-job well done!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really cool polish, and it was playing nicely all the way. No streaking to the designs either so very happy with that. Was great for making decals as I didn't need any top/clear coats on the stamping mat.
DeleteYes! I love how this turned out!!! Pond manicures are no joke... :)
ReplyDeleteThan k you Sarah. I this is my second attempt at a pond mani, and I think the MVP here was the SH - Jell-ous?
DeleteLove this! Very cool. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :D
DeleteI like how they're girly and halloweeny at the same time. Looking good!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comment.
DeleteWhat a cool idea! Never thought to use pink for Halloween. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteDo you get tired of all the green, purple, and orange nails too??
DeleteTechnically Sally Hansen - Jell-ous? is red, but it does show up pink over naked nails. :D
That is such a cool effect!!! but that is also a lot of coats.. how did the drying go and did you have any lifting with that many coats???
ReplyDeleteSH - Jell-ous? dried like any clear polish, very quickly, and even with this many coat I did not experience any lifting or chipping in the 4 days i wore it.
DeleteThe decal had a rubbery feel to it after leaving it to dry for 5 min, I was able to pull it to fit better over my nails and used clear acetone to "trim" the excess. It did not budge and survived like glitter.
Wow, unusual color combination for Halloween nails, I like this! Scary but girly :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Totally what I was going for.
DeleteThis was such an awesome idea! I really like your index finger.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Thank you so much
DeleteI love the zombie theme!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! <3
DeleteLOVE IT! I really want to try a pond manicure as this looks so good, but I fear all my polishes are too opaque as that's usually the kind I go for, alas it may call for a bit of nail polish shopping. :)
ReplyDeleteYou could dilute them with a clear polish, or if you want an excuse for nail polish shopping I fully support you. Everyone should at least have the primary colours in this level of sheerness.
DeleteThe pond idea is so clever! I never would've thought to mix pond and halloween. Darn you're a smart lady!
ReplyDeleteI can't take all the credit for it. There is an author writing under the pseudonym Darran Shan, and in the Darran Shan -series he is describing a pond filled with bodies. Darran Shan is a Vampire, so...
DeleteSo I thought why not a pond of zombies...
Ah, the elusive pond mani! Every time I see one I love it and swear I will try it, but it has yet to be. If I am reading you correctly you've added an interesting twist and created this by way of decals instead of directly on your nails, yes? Regardless, it looks very cool and I love the unexpected at Halloween!
ReplyDeleteIndeed i did :) Soo much easier!
DeleteReally neat! I still haven't tried a pond mani yet, so I suppose I should add it to my to-try list lol
ReplyDeleteI would recommend doing it. if you make a decal out of it, it will be so much easier for you as well. :)
DeleteI don't like zombies (sorry!), but I like your pink pond mani. It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteI don't like Zombies either.
DeleteI think they are creepy. #girlsagainstzombies
Thanks for the nice comment thou!
