Charlies Nail Art Haul

A parcel arrived at my door, and it contained a lot of nail art stuff that I am excited to show you.
I wanted to try a new company and decided to order from Charlies Nail Art.
Some people call this the UK's version of BornPrettyStore, and since I have worked with BornPrettyStore before I thought I would look into this company. The plus obviously being that they are local and you don't have to wait for 4+ weeks before getting your stuff.
When you are a blogger and wants to stay on trend those 4 weeks can mean a lot of difference.

While the stock is not the same as BornPrettyStore some of the individual items and brands seems to be.

Contained:
1 Wrap
1 French Guides
2 pk. Stickers
1 pk. Studs
6 Rhinestones
1 pk. Holo Shreddies
Several pairs of Nail Art Charms
1 bag of assorted Fimo slices
3 Foils
3 pk. of Glitter
1 pk. Flocking Powder

Charlies Nail Art does world wide shipping, for UK residents orders under £20 postage is £1.75 in postage, with orders over £20 with no postage charge.
I had my parcel in 2 days from ordering, so I am very happy with the response time.

It will do good to note that all the foils on Charlies Nail Art are intended to be no-foil-glue-needed foils, but I have heard that for the best result, one should still use foil glue. Charlies Nail Art does not sell foil glue, so I think the best place to get that is still Dollarnailart, which is where I have been buying my foils and glue for years.
That being said, I think it was a lot of fun opening this Loot Bag. For £6.99 the content of the bag is totally worth it. It also gives a good idea of what sort of products you can get from the company without spending hours on putting together an order.

Is there any particular product you would like to see me using for my next nail art?

She Sells Seashells Haul

I recently did a haul from She Sells Seashells, since they sell Uber Chic Beauty products and it means I won't have to wait for the parcels to make their way all the way from the States to here in the UK, and having to pay taxes on top of it, instead I get to order it from a shop in the UK.

I wanted to see what the shipping time was like as well as checking out some other products from the store. These are the items I ended up getting.

Mystery Valentines Bag
Stamping Plate Storage Holder
Chevron vinyls

I have tested out some of the products already and I am very happy with what I got here.
Have you purchased from She Sells Seashells before?

Haul Videos

Do you like haul videos?
Sometimes love haul videos, specially if I know that the person spent their own hard-earned money on the items we see in the video. If the video is filled with Press Samples and Gifts... well I wouldn't call that a Haul video, I'd call that a "What's in my PO box" (for example) video, but that's just me.

I got a new camera for Christmas and I wanted to try it out, and decided to do a haul video. One turned into two, so here they are...
Currently working on review videos on some of the items that where in the haul videos, so if there is something specific that you are interested in, give me a shout.

First out is my first Vivid Lacquer Haul. I have never ordered stamping plates from Etsy before so that was a first. Curious to find out which plates I got?

A note however. If you are planning on buying plates from Vivid Lacquer, she has currently closed the shop in order to sort out some problems with a bad batch of plates. I know she is swamped in work at the moment so give her some time to sort everything out.

My second haul was from BornPrettyStore. I wanted to get one of those Jelly Stampers to see what the fuss was all about, but didn't want to get the real thing, in case I destroyed it. I also picked up a couple of other things from them as well.

Super Placa B - Apipila

Today I wanted to show you a new stamping plate that I have gotten my hands on. I am not sure how long this has been on the market, but it was the first time I have heard or seen of this brand.
New to me.

I bought the Super Placa B - Apipila plate with my own money.

Super Placa B - Apipila

This plate is massive! I measured it at 29 cm wide and 18.8 cm tall, which makes just short of 11.5 inch wide and 7.5 inch tall. The images on this plate are 1.8 cm wide and 2 cm tall, except for the bottom row which are 2.1 cm wide and 2.1 cm tall. The corner images are all in various sizes.

If you want to get your hands on this plate as well

UK: Nail-Artisan UK £22.60
US: Beautometry  $60.00

Merry Christmas Nails

I received this product of my own choosing, free of charge for my honest, non-bias review from the Born Pretty Store.

Today I have for you the 12 pcs 3D  Christmas Stickers from BornPrettyStore in Gold.

I wanted to make sure I posted this before December so that those of you out there looking for Christmas Nail Ideas still have time to buy these before the festivities are over.

I for one know how frustrating it can be to find "the perfect" Christmas/Halloween/Birthday look for your nails AFTER it is over. I feel ya sisters. Been there, done that.

Like all great nail arts, I started out with a solid base colour. Today I decided to finally use my China Glaze - Gussied Up Green.

China Glaze - Gussied Up Green

China Glaze - Gussied Up Green

I see now that I have a Barry M and a Misa polish that might actually be dupes with this polish, but look at that beauty. I think we all understand how I managed to end up with 3 polishes that looks like this. Gorgeous.

To be honest, this was not the easiest polish to work with, it was very thin, and I think what you are seeing here is actually 4-5 coats.

When doing reviews one can only report what you see, and experience, and from what I can see from the macro shot of this manicure, is that the gold in the stickers bleed a little. The instructions says to apply 2 coats of topcoat over, I only used 1 coat, and the topcoat that I used was Out The Door. Just so that is said.
As you can see from the pictures it was only the garland that bleed. That garland is found on the TY105 section. I also used a ribbon and "Merry Christmas" taken from TY110. I did not experience any problems with those stickers, and after a week wear they still looked pretty good.

The  12 pcs 3D  Christmas Stickers from BornPrettyStore cost $ 5.57, but at the time of writing this post, it is on sale for $4.46.

If you will be placing an order, feel free to use my 10 % off coupon: RAMG10
There are plenty of products to choose from at their site, not just nail related items, and the prices are very affordable and they have free worldwide shipping.

Uber Chic Beauty - Collection 3

As some of you may have seen it already, I did a haul from Über Chic Beauty and got some of their plates as well as the Über Mat. I have already done a review on the Zombie Love plate.

I bought Collection 3 because of the positive message that is on plate 3-01 and 3-03.
It reminds us that you should never face your fears alone, and that you are Beautiful.

I actually have "Be-you-tiful" as a pictures on my wall here in my nail cave. So important to remind yourself of that.

My Über Chic Haul

This is the Secretary.

Make sure that you subscribe to my channel for more stamping plate reviews.
I hope you all enjoy the video I put together, I had a lot of fun making it.

Germany Haul

I had a great holiday in Germany this summer, and I wanted to share with you all the nail polishes that I got. Before I left for Germany I scouted out some places to go shopping for nail polish while I was there. Google did not provide me with the greatest results, so I decided to write this post about my shopping trip for others who are also looking for where to buy nail polishes in Germany.

My first stop in Munich, the capital of Bavaria Germany was Sonnestrasse where I found a Euro Shop. This is sort of the same as Dollar Store, 100 Yen Stores or the Poundland/Poundworlds.
Beside the lovely multicoloured yarn I found for my mother, I also found a glitter polish from a brand called Sabrina, and some fimo animals.

Following Sonnestrasse, I got to Karlsplatz, here I found Karstadt which proved to be a HUGE disappointment, as I wasted almost an hour looking through the place, but no nail polish. This might have been due to the remodeling of the place, but I saw no evidence of nail polish, except for the usual suspects like Chanel, and YSL which you can get cheaper at most airports.

Later I decided to give Willy - Brandt - Platz a try.  Here you can find a KIKO store as well as several  Parfumerie in the second floor. If you have time to grab a bite, I would recommend checking out Ristorante Pizzeria Calabrone. The owner was super nice, and the food delicious.

The KIKO store had a huge sale, so there was practically no polish left on the shelf, but I did managed to snap up these four.  It is, in no particular order; Kiko - 492, Kiko, 534, Kiko - 497 and Kiko - 531. (links lead to posts using the polishes)

KIKO Haul
I found one of the Harry Potter themed Catrice polishes, so I picked that one with me. It was the Catrice - 46 - Berry potter & Plumbledore. I also found Catrice - 680 - Khaki Perry, Catrice - 59 - First Class Up-Grape, Catrice - 03 - Have An Ice Day which is the Million Styles at the right in the picture, and Catrice - 60 - Out Of The Dark.

Catrice Haul

For the rest of my trip around Bavaria Germany I did not find much in terms of nail polish, but I had a great holiday and got to see some amazing places. The best part I think was rowing a little boat in the Alpe See for an hour.

You can see me use Catrice - First Class Up-Grape over at my YouTube Channel, doing a tutorial for Wired Nails

Birthday Hauling!

Tomorrow is my birthday, and therefor I have been hauling some little gifts for myself.

I am one of those people who love their birthday, I plan my day weeks and week ahead, and this Saturday I am going to the park with my friends for a picnic. This is a tradition I have had ever since I turned 20. Except for that one year when it was raining...

Last year I got a Helmer for my birthday, and it looks like I need to expand this year with a third Helmer. My nail/office room is coming together nicely, but I am just lacking the space, and need to expand.

But enough about my birthday, wanna see what I got?

Lots of Barry M polishes!

I got:

I got a 30£ giftcard from work, as the Top Agent Of The Month, so it meant I could get loads of nail polishes. This actually just about covered it for me, so a couple of pounds had to go out of my own pockets.

Rainbow Connection Haul

I bought myself the Creative Stamper, and I finally got my hands on Mallard by The PolishAholic, and my second Dollish Polish; Dollish Polish - Serendipity (Store Exclusive). I can't wait to try em all out.

I also ordered myself some clear nail art tips to swatch my entire collection. I am rapidy reaching 500 now, and felt that some order was in need.

Until next time, stay healthy and polish those tips.

NAYLL - I Found Loot

Nothing to disclose, all items in this post was bought with my own money

Today I have for you a nail polish that I made. A Franken. Well, this one is a bit different, as I didn't mix it myself, but I did choose what was going in it. You might have hear about NAYLL before. If not, you are about to.

For those of you that have followed my blog for a while, knows that I have made my own polishes before. I am not a complete virgin to "Frankening", if you are, I can tell you that:
Frankening (fránk-É™n-ing) – The DIY practice of mixing one’s own unique nail polish using glitter, micas, pigments or eye shadow with clear or other polishes.
Makes a bit more sense now doesn't it.
At NAYLL you find a huge list of "ingredients" (glitters) that goes in a polish, so that YOU can get the polish you have always dreamed about.

DESIGN WHATEVER YOU CAN IMAGINE!
 Sara Harvey, Founder, NAYLL

I have always wanted a nail polish called: I found loot. I imagined it with round glitters in copper and gold. Those epic moment when you are playing Dungeons And Dragons with your friends, and you come across a chest lined in red velvet, filled with monies. That is what I wanted the polish to be for me. A bridge between two hobbies. My nerdiness meeting my nails. Tales with epic glory, with epic nails. What more can a girl dream about?

I made two polishes at NAYLL, but for now, I will only show you this one. I will make a separate post when the weather gets better for the second polish. I named the other one "Fields of Marigold", so you understand why I need it to be more spring like outside before I use it.

I made this polish around April/May last year, I believe... The nail polish has been on an adventure before making it to me. It was the early days of the company and they did not have a very good shipping option for us Europeans. For a couple of polishes it will cost you $23.50 (tax incl.).

As I could only afford a couple of polishes back then, being without a job and all, I had it shipped to a beautiful lady in the US, and she sent it to me with a couple of other polishes I also wanted. As Paying shipping for both separately, was out of the question.
We all love nail-mail so I added a picture.

NAYLL _ NAIL MAIL!

Don't you just LOVE the wrapping?! It was a dream to pick this up.

Sara is so cool that she even included a hand-written letter to me.
Here you can see my two custom polishes. Furthest to the left is "Fields of Marigold", and next to it is "I Found Loot". I remember having a conversation with my nail-friend Mishka that I wanted to call it something else, but I can not for the life of me remember what that was.
Anyhow. The intended full name of the polish I am going to show you in this post is "I Found Loot In A Hopeless Place", but that exceeded the 35 characters you can have on the bottle.

If you where curious as to what I wanted from the US, well... I needed more of the Wet n Wild - Black Creme, as it is my go-to stamping polish, and it was almost empty.

As a bonus, Mishka also sent me a franken of her own called "Irish Rain". This is particularity funny, as I live in Northern Ireland. I saw it on her blog, and said it was gorgeous, and she was so nice and sent it to me. I have it in a Plexiglas box on my desk.

She also sent me this very mysterious colour changing blue polish. I LOVE blues, so YAY to me!
I wuvve my Mishka! If you wanna send some love to her, I have added a link to her post about "Irish Rain", and here is a link to her main page.

I think I have chatted for long enough now. Anyone wanna see what NAYLL - I Found Loot looks like? Below you can see a picture with ONE coat of "I Found Loot" over H&M - Red.

Small Kiko - Haul

So as you might already know, I just moved temporarily to  Spain, Madrid to work as a gametester for EA. It was a huge opportunity for me and I just couldn't say no to it.

Today, we are working overtime on my project, which means I get to update myself on all the blogs out there, and do some blogposts. In between all the working of course, it's not like I'm not doing anything here. But the rules are less strict when working overtime.

Since my flat doesn't have a proper kitchen I have most of our meals out in pubs or restaurants, and it leaves little time for reading blogs and do some blogging. I have missed it so much. I have been so used to being updated on all the blogs I follow, the minute someone posts something, and now, I feel like I am falling behind.

One of the plus sides when moving from UK to Spain, is that I can easily get hold of Kiko polishes.

I mean. The shops are EVERYWHERE!

Every corner I look, there is a KIKO shop. One even had a grand opening just few days after I got here. I didn't go to it, but there was definitely champagne there. Quite the show.

These are the polishes I bought. They sure look amazing in the bottles, and I hope it transfers as well to the nails. I am so excited over these polishes. They are perfect for the Spanish weather with lots of sun and warm weather, so shiny!

So these are the polishes I got:

I think I managed to line them up, somewhat in order, so the furthest to the right is Kiko - 255.
And oh my gosh, that green! It's freaking amazing!!
Gorgeous!!

I love my little haul, and I hope you did too. I will be back later with some swatches for you girls.

My little Boots Haul

There is always one of those 3 for 2 offers running around, and this time I wanted to take advantage of the offer on Boots (UK). Basically anything in the makeup isle at Boots was on this offer. In terms of hauling, this is just a little one.

I  have been eyeing the Gelly Collection for a while, and purchased Barry M - Watermelon a while back, this time I bought a bunch of others from the collection, as well as some of the Silk Collection.

From the Gelly Collection
Barry M - Blueberry
Barry M - Dragon
Barry M - Lychee
Barry M - Plum

From the Silk Collection
Barry M - Meadow
Barry M - Blossom

I might go back and purchase more from these collections, but will see how they work for me first, this specially goes for the Silk Collection. I'm in love with how awesome Barry M - Watermelon was, so hoping the rest of the Gelly's are as awesome. Will systematically work my way through these polishes as the days come, so watch this space for some swatches and nail art with them.

I want to add some more white to Barry M - Lychee, I think that would be the perfect background for paper/newspaper manicures. If I do, there will be a franken post about it.

As you can see, I also bought another Nail Rock, I have quite the selection of these now, so I might have to try them out at one point, just waiting for the perfect moment. Well... it's like they say. There is no such thing as a perfect moment, you have to create it.

Hope you enjoyed my little haul. I will be back tomorrow with some swatches for you ladies.

For a Pound?

This is going to be one of those odd little posts of stuff I have gotten for a pound.  I live in the UK, for now at least. There are stuff from Poundland, other pound-stores or Primark.

It was a bargain. It really was.
There I was at Pound-land, in front of me is the nail art / random girl section. It has glitters all over the place, someone has smudged a lipstick all over the shelf. But in-between all the smudges and dirt I see something shiny.

Caviar Nailart -set from Allura

So ofcourse I had to pick them with me. I grabbed 3 packs with the Diamaté nail charms, in case I where to loose some, or give away. Good thing I did, cause by the time I got back home, I had lost one of them.
Where did it go?
It could be number of places. The airport (where I dragged them out to look at them), at my friends house in Edinburgh, or in Bristol. No matter where it is, I am sure it will be taken good care of.

Much later on I was on a trip to town, and decided to take a look at Primarks. This is what I found there.

Nail wraps, nail file with different grits, and cotton pads.
First thing I noted about this haul from Primark was the nail file. At closer inspection you see this [picture below]. The numbers are all off. For why would you buff your nails before filing them? That seems odd to me. I took it out of the packaging and inspected it closer. 6 - 5 are for filing, 1-2 are of softer grit almost leather-y and works for even it all out. I would never ever ever in the world use 2 for smoothing out nail surface, it tugs on the surface, so it still has some grit to it.
3-4 are leather-y, and works great for buffing, and shining.

If we look away from the obvious number-error, this is a great file. I have used it a while, and it's a cheap option instead of diving in and buying more expensive ones. I used to have one like this ages ago, on one of my earlier attempts to stop nail biting from Sally's which was about £5 or something. I remember it was my entire weekly allowance, so it must have been around the £5 mark.

I also picked with me these nail wraps. I'm usually not into nail wraps, I have done a few attempts of applying and using some, but I had to take these with me cause they have a clear base. My other nail wraps have been more foil-like in finish with overall blinding shine and would wrinkle on the nails and never set one even. I can actually see myself get some use out of these. Those little rhinestones are sitting neatly on a line, and I have tugged a bit in them and it seems like they would apply even. Looking forward to try that.

My review and manicure with the wraps can be found here.

For another pound (£1.99) I got myself 500 ml of PVA glue. so  I will be testing out glue base for glitter manis. Really looking forward to that. Have you tried it? Which glitter where you the most happy for being able to wear without the hassle?

Jumbo Plate 1 - Viva Mexico

Let's take a quick look at the Jumbo plate 1 - Viva Mexico.  This is an abstract plate, with a lot of different designs to cover your needs for something hot, and Mexican.
You got five different skull designs for Day of The Dead, lot of different happy Mexicans dancing with sombreros.  As far as themed stamping plates goes, this is by far one of the best I have seen. While I was still missing some images on the Happy Holiday plate, this one (being more specific does that), covers it all.

If you are wondering what's on my nails?  China Glaze - For Audrey.

They are sold here:
$ 11 ea for the plates if you buy them separate and just want specific plates.
$ 44.99 for 5 plates if you buy them in predetermined set (S1 and S2). Makes $ 8.99 ea.
$ 84.99 for all 10 plates (U1). Makes $ 8.49 ea.

I bought all 10 of them as that gave me most for the money, and I kinda liked all the plates.

Jumbo Plate 10 - Happy Nails

Let's take a quick look at Jumbo plate 10 - Happy Nails. This is the only plate that only has full nail images.
It has some really cool background images and designs. I specially like the DNA - swirl image, and all the geometric ones.

What do you think of this plate? Let me know in the comment below.

Jumbo Plate 9 - Wild At Heart

This plate gives you a variation between animal prints, and animal images.

The cutest thing on this plate is the panda images, it got a close up -panda face, and a full image of a panda, they come as a full nail image as well as separates.
One thing I am very happy for, is that I get a bee-image here. On all my 100 and something plates I had no bee images. But now I do. *happy*

The little turtle we saw at Jumbo Plate 8 - Princess Charming get a full nail image on this plate, which is nice.

This is the sweetest plate of them all. This is perfect for all those little princesses out there. Need a girly manicure? You will find it here.

This plate has some really cute images, my favorites must be the little dinosaur, the mermaid, and  the fat cat (Garfield) image.

This plate gets the geek out of me, with the cake image. *points at herself* Portal-fan.

First thing I noticed with this plate, is that it has a lot of vegetables and fruit images, here you get; bananas, aubergines, tomatoes, strawberry, apple, cherry, kiwi, carrots and onion / garlic images.  Good selection there, for manicures using this plate, click on here.

The mailman arrived today with a present for me. He was wondering what made it so heavy, and I can tell you. It was all the Jumbo plate 1-10 from Cheeky. I have done a quick film of them all and will be posting as soon as they are uploaded to Youtube.

First over the finish line was Tropical Holiday - Jumbo Plate 2.

New Look - Nail Tattoos

I found this at New Look and though I should just do a quick post about it.
They claim to be nail tattoos, but they're not, they are stickers (just so you know). They are funny looking. Finally got some mustaches for my nails!! YaY.
Love those hipster glasses, so cool.

Without topcoat they wash off right away, as soon as you wash your hands. With topcoat, well, they last as well as stickers. They are nice and gelly-esk, easy to apply. Had no problems with lifting, but I only wore it for a day. Sadly, I was out and about, and didn't have my camera with me, and when I got home, I was too eager to redo my nails that I forgot all about pictures.

Anyhow, the word is out.

As for size of the stickers ... let's say it like this, they fill my littlefinger from side to side. so, i'm guessing close to 1 cm width (glasses and mustache images are the biggest ones, the kisses and the bows are smaller).

It got two types of red glasses, three types of black glasses, red bow with white polkadots, and black bow with white polkadots, a mustache, lashes, and kisses.
