Inspired by Fashion - Rag & Bone

I have been wanting to do some nail art inspired by Fashion for a while, but I wasn't quite sure what it should be of. When I saw the new collection from Rag & Bone, I knew what I wanted to do.

First, I would never wear this myself, but I like the artistic expression in this outfit. The black crop top to the slightly pinkish boyfriend blazer with crop jeans in white. There is something about the cropped look of it all. 

For this look I used Bundlemonster plate - BM303 as an accent, stamping with Ciate - Speed Dial, Sinful Color - Snow Me White, Wet & Wild - Black, and NYX - Matte - Baby Pink.

It's been aaaages since last time I used Bundlemonster plates. I have been so caught up in my Cheeky plates lately. I suppose that's how it is, when we buy new plates all the time. 

Hey ho, that's life. Bundlemonster, you are not forgotten.

I know the pink is not quite right, I first tried mixing a soft pink with acrylics, but it didn't turn out very well. So I had to go with the polish for the finished look.

Meet me at the Cupcake Cafe

I'm like two weeks or so late with this manicure. It just didn't spring at me right away, and thought of doing another transfer nail art just didn't appeal to me right now. So I waited for the inspiration to come to me. This morning it did. I woke up by the sunlight beaming into my bedroom, and instead of getting up and going to the computer like I usually do, I picked up my book that I started reading yesterday and started reading. 

It's such a good book. I know, it's chic-litt, it's not for everyone, but I happen to enjoy reading it. 

Few years ago, I would never even touch a chic-litt book, but something changed and 2 years ago I bought my first chic-litt book. I can't remember which book it was, but I'm guessing it was by Sophie Kinsella. If you don't know of S.Kinsella, I can tell you that she is the woman behind the Shopaholic -series, she also wrote (personal favorite of mine, when it comes to her books) Twenties Girl. I did not just love them, I devoured them, I read them in a day, and I keep looking for new books, so when I noticed that Kinsella had recommended "Meet Me At The Cupcake Cafe" by Jenny Colgan, I had to buy it. 

And that is how I ended up doing this manicure. 

For this manicure I used acrylic paint with a "script liner" brush, and NYX - Matte Baby Pink.

MSMD manicure with Love

Good morning readers!
It's Monday, and today I have been invited to a neighbor town, for a birthday party. I was told to get up early in the morning, and drive into town. Excited to see what the day will bring.
This is a Monkey See, Monkey Do (MSMD) of a manicure The Crumpet did for valentines.

I used NYX - Matte baby pink, Sinful Color - Snow me White, and Barielle- Katalicious.
Stamped using BM 317, BM 311 and Mash 48

Added roses and thingies (brain can't remember what they are called), using BM 323.

Casino Royale

I would call this a gambling Medley, is search for a better word. It's about gambling, and all there is to it. The chips, the slot machines, the dices, and cards, the smokin' ladies, and the money.

For this manicure I used a collection of plates.

I had so much fun with this manicure, and enjoyed my night out trying roulette, and black jack. One thing is for sure, gambling is not my thing, but what do you think about the nail art?

Depression Awareness Nail Art

Greetings Girls.

Today I want to share with you a manicure I did for Depression Awareness. Usually one would see a Depression Awareness mani, with green in it, cause the Awareness logo is green.

To me, green represents Envy, and there is nothing to Envy when you're Depressed.

It's taken me a while do actually post this. First of all, cause it's very personal, and I wanted to make sure I didn't share too much. I suffer from Depression. I have for a very long time. I don't think I can remember a time where I wasn't. We all have our good and bad days. The last few years I have been luck to have fewer bad days. I don't take any medications for it, seeing my mom eat her pills like candy, kinda put me of. It's a choice I made. There is no right or wrong with Depression.

A few years ago, my mom was at a rehabilitating center, she would paint. Day out and day in. One of the pictures she made was beautiful. We sat in front of it for hours. She would tell me about all the colors she used, and why. That it was her depression, she had painted.
That's why I have chosen to recreate it, in a manicure.

For this manicure I used:

NYX - Matte Baby Pink

Movember - Breast Cancer Awareness

I decided I wanted to do a Breast Cancer Awareness - manicure.

I don't have any personal experience with breast cancer, but my family has a history of Endometrical Cancer. 

When I was in the UK, I picked up a few different pinks, cause I didn't really have that many from before. One of the ones I picked up was Barry M - Fuchsia.

I didn't want to go all Fuchsia, so I picked up my NYX Matte Baby Pink. 

I actually did two slightly different manicures, see the second at the bottom of this post.

(If you notice some smurf-colors on my fingers, it's just cause the food color-bottle exploded on me)

Then I picked up a dotting tool to make the bow. 

I wasn't sure about leaving it like this, so I picked up my Models Own - Mystic Mauve.

Which version did you like the best?

Summer Challenge - Red, Orange, Yellow

Today's challenge, wanted us to use, the colours; red, orange, and yellow.
Wasn't hard to pick shades today, that's for sure. Specially since I only have two yellow (and one is a neon), and one orange, and four reds.

I wanted to have a matte background for this, but the Rimmel Matte, hardly did anything over my Matte Red, and Lemon Tree. Could it be the formula?

For this mani, I painted the nail orange, using H&M - Lemon Tree, then I cut a tiny piece of make-up sponge and used it to apply Matte Red, to the tips.  Lets take a look at that step:

Then I allowed it to dry for a while. I grabbed BM plate - 313, and stamped using H&M - Yellow. Its great for stamping, all the H&M polishes I have tried are ( minis and those with the black cap, special editions, sux at stamping). Can you guess what I was trying to do here?

It`s a beehive with honey!

Sorry for not participating in the Summer Challenge. I didn't quite feel like it today, here is my first sponged mani, ( well.. I just sponged the tips, but its a beginning.

One coat of BeYu - 142

One coat of NYX Matte - Teal, on half.

Depend - 246 sponged on the tips and stamped BM plate.

I used three different blues for this mani, and French White from H&M. This is the first time I have ever sponged polish, and I am very pleased with the result.

BeYu - 142, NYX Matte - Teal, Depend - 246, French White - H&M. Using Bundlemonster plate - erhm, where is that plate now.. 

Ill let you know when I find it.

Summer Challenge - Ladybirds

As todays challenge, we where going to make Ladybird / Ladybug. So here is my take on the challenge.

For this mani I used NYX Matte - Red, Wet n Wild - Creme Black and Depend - French White ( for the eyes). I finished this mani pretty late so I missed the sun, will see if I can get a better picture with some sunlight tomorrow morning.

Triangle purple tips over blue

I smudged one of my fingers when I was looking for the camera..

Here I used NYX Matte - Teal as a base, and tipped it with H&M - Purple.
I think my H&M - Purple could do good with a thinner, it was the best to handle when making this mani. Making the arrows all uneven.

I saw this mani in a magazine, just with other colours, and wanted to do one as well.

What do you think?

Cupcakes Nail Art

For this mani I used a dotting tool, a Warhammer pencil, for the base of the cupcake ( stole it from my boyfriend ), French White from H&M,  NYX Matte Baby Pink, ESSIE -  Little Brown Dress, and a rhinestone from the BM -set I just got.

I didn't want all my nails to have cupcakes on them, so I left the thumb and pinky painted in ESSIE - Little Brown Dress.

Would you ever wear cupcakes on your nails?

Baby Pink - Matte NYX

Using Red - H&M and  Matte Polish Baby Pink - NYX, and golden beads.
Three coats of NYX was needed, even thou its called Matte, it dried with shine.
Looks great with a Matte Topcoat, but didnt use that here.
