Confessionails: LoveThyPolish - Magic Forest

I have been wanting to do something like this for a while now, and I finally decided on doing it.
I bring you, Confessionails. Get it? Confessions, and nails mashed together. I will do a couple of these Confessionails and set up the hashtag on Pinterest and stuff to make it easier to find.

Firstly lets start with a new to me, polish. I got my hands on this lovely green shade, LoveThyPolish - Magic Forest. LoveThyPolish was an Australian brand, and is sadly no longer around. Sorry girls.
I got my hands on this polish when a girl here in the UK decided to sell all her nail polishes as she was not longer into the hobby. I thought it was sad to stash them away and not love them anymore so I took it in, along with a bunch of other polishes that I will show one by one.

It really is a gorgeous polish, don't you think?

For this manicure I used Moyou London  - Scholar Collection - 01, Uber Chic - Zombie Love Ltd and BornPrettyStore - BPL - 021. for all the stamping I used Sinful Color - Snow Me White.
I really like how this all came together. See the confession?

Barely China

This post contains an affiliate link.

Sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone and do something new. I was feeling the mood today, and wanted to give this Color Club - Barely There a try. I received it in my April - Glossy Box.
I have been subscribing for a while now, and it's great for trying out new makeup items.
I am the kind of person that has no idea in the makeup isle, I tend to stick to things I already know works for me, and I am terrified trying out new stuff. Be it new colours or just a new texture.
I even have a problem with them changing the design on my BB cream. That was not a good day.
So when I get these little boxes, and they come with instructions and all, in to my own home, I feel more at ease. I have had some hits and misses, but I have also found some really great things.

Favorite so far: Coconut/Argan oil for my hair. I have been growing my hair for a while, and I am just getting past my hips now, and when I had it measured it was 80 cm / 31 inches / 2.6 feet.

But ya'all didn't get here to hear about my hair. Let's talk nails.

Color Club - Barely There

This is shown with 3 coats, and was a bit tricky to use, and to be honest it didn't wow me over or anything. I am trying to find a go-to-nude polish, and I can say for sure, this will not be it.
I wanted to give it a proper go, and wear it for a couple of days, so I grabbed my BornPrettyStore water transfers in "Traditional Chinese Painting Beauty Aspara Flat Peach Pattern (# 6076) that I purchased a while (and by a while, I mean last year), ago, and slapped them on.

To Jazz it up a little, I went with my Moyou London - Scholar Plate - 02 and my trusted stamping polish Wet N Wild - Black Creme and a black stud from a nail art wheel from Claire's.

BornPrettyStore - Traditional Chinese Painting Beauty over Color Club - Barely There. Stamping in Wet N Wild - Black Creme from Moyou London - Scholar Plate 02, and a black stud.

The water transfer was really easy to use, and I could slide them on my nails to correct the positioning after I placed them on my nails, which was great.

If you are thinking about purchasing from BornPrettyStore they offer free shipping worldwide, and if you use my code (RAMG10) you get 10% off your order. Clicking on the image below will take you straight to their site.

Until next time girls! Happy polishing!

A writers manicure

I was totally inspired by Mishka over at Lacquer or Leave Her! for todays manicure. You can find her post: Review and Before & After: Moyou London Scholar Collection 02 and 06 here.

Quick view of the original.

This manicure is so gorgeous. It's amazingly gorgeous. I can not praise it enough. hopefully my recreation with a twist will get as much love as the original. If you are not already a subscriber of her, I would highly recommend checking her out.

For this manicure I used the same plate as Mishka did in her manicure, but I also added one plate from MASH - 39, for a background image. I wanted my nails to look like notebooks, and since I don't have the Scholar Collection plate 06, I found an image that kinda looks the same on another plate.

I used a several different nail polishes for this manicure. W7 - Buff on the tips over Barry M - Lychee, and ESSIE - Little Brown Dress as an accent. Stamped using Makeup Mekka - Charlotte Grey and Barry M - Lychee, and ESSIE - Little Brown Dress.

This is how it all started.

Can I just say that I am totally in LOVE with this manicure. I just LOVE LOVE it. And I love how the ink came out, when I used a brush over it to make it look more like it was "wiped" away.

Once upon a time ...

Once upon a time there was a young little girl, with golden hair as long as the ocean. In her curls lived birds...

Okay maybe not. Though I am sure, that would make a great manicure as well.  I decided to go a bit more edgy than that for this "Once Upon a Time" -mani.

Sorry for being completely MIA on you all, I have been spending a week in Wales, catching up with good friends and preparing to move to Spain for the summer. I am so excited to go and work there, it's going to be so exciting.

I started out with 2 coats of Barry M - Gelly - Plum.

It did stain a little, so if you get this polish, you have now been warned. I find that these gelly polishes takes a while to dry on me, but I love the glossy feel they give of, and how "polished" my nails look with them.

I had yet to show you a manicure using the MoYou-London Scholar Collection plate - 02.
I wanted to show the versatility of these plates, in not just being able to create interesting manicures within the obvious theme of each plate, but also how you can work in your other plates as well.
I used Cheeky - Viva Mexico (a plate I have not used until now) together with the Scholar plate, and I really liked how they all played together nicely and created this look.

I stamped using my trusted Sinful Color - Snow Me White, and Wet & Wild - Black Creme. I also used Essie - Navigate Her for the lime, and a dotting tool for the salt.

What do you girls think? I like how the black polish almost disappears in the plum, and only shows in certain light conditions.

Nail-related birthday presents

Not to brag or anything, but I think my boyfriend just got the "Boyfriend of the Year Award".

This is what he got me for my birthday.

I had prior to my birthday mentioned like a gazillion times how cool the MoYou-London plates are. He saw me oohing and aaahing over my MoYou-London haul that I did last month. Mentioning that I wanted more plates from them.
To make the next haul at MoYou-London be smoother, I set up a "wish-list". A Wish-list my boyfriend found. And he bought me ALL the plates on the list that was in stock. This means 5 new plates for me!!!!

I can not express just how excited I am over this. This goes beyond my wildest dreams of what I could get for my b-day.

Not just did he get me 5 MoYou-London plates, he also got me another Helmer.
I had mentioned that I would like another Helmer at some point, cause I am lacking storage place at my Nail Station, and we can squeeze in another Helmer between the one I already have and the couch.  To save my nails, he also built it for me. Ah my Hero.

Ikea - Helmer

But it doesn't stop there...
He also got me some board games, and he did my nails. I will be back later with the nails that he did for my birthday. They might surprise you. They were definitely board game relate.

Have your OH ever given you a lot of nail-relate items for your birthday?
Let me know in the comments below.

It Better Be Math

Some people hate math, and others enjoy it. I consider myself to be somewhere in between those two. It depends on the type of math...

I used to have a professor that was incredibly awesome. He would make a joke about any type of math, and then spend the rest of the session explaining how the equation (or any type of mathematically question that was the topic that day) worked. I loved it, and it is not a surprise that while I had this professor, my math grades where good.

So when I got my hands on the Scholar Collection plate, and it had math written all over it, I wanted to start out easy.

I started out using Barry M - Gelly - Lychee as base coat. I made black french tips with Wet & Wild - Black Creme, and stamped using the same Wet & Wild.

I am not quite agreeing with the shade of Lychee, I don't think it fits very well with my pale skin at the moment, but as soon as I get a bit of a tan, I think this polish will look a lot better on me.

MoYou-London Scholar Collection Plate 02

I am totally adoring this plate from Moyou-London. I am so glad i bought it. It ties well in with the Fairytale plates, with Romeo and Juliet quote, and Alice reading a book. There is just so many things you can do with this plate. Below you can see the Youtube video i posted on my channel about the plate.

Have a great day.

I am so in love with this plate. Different equations, different styles of numbers, and my favorite; Ï€ and Pythagoras. YaY.
I made a video about this plate. I hope you like it, feel free to subscribe to my YT - channel for upcoming videos.

I will be back with a manicure using this plate.

Moyou-London Haul

I am so excited over this haul. I wanted to get a couple more plates, but the ones I had my eyes on were sold out, so I only bought a modestly number of four plates. I am planning on doing another haul from Moyou-London soon. Their plates are amazing, so pretty and innovative.

I bought two of their Scholar Collection Plates, one Fairytale Collection Plate and one from their Sci-Fi Collection. I also added their stamper and scraper, on recommendation from Mishka over at Lacquer or Leave Her. She is such an enabler, she is awesome.

There you have it, everything I bought. I will be doing a little video on those plates, and you can find them at my YT-channel. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss it.

First up I want to show you the plastic scraper and stamper, below you can see it compared to my Konad set.

Moyou-London scraper and stamper next to my old Konad stamper and scraper.

The large stamper is the same size as my old Konad one, the with of the scraper is the same, but the Konad scraper has a larger area to place your fingers. Being used to the Konad scraper, I find the Moyou-London one a little bit small, but it's just something to get used to. The stampers from Moyou-London is super shiny, and feels a bit oily to the touch.

On to the plates.

I love the design of these boxes/sleeves, they are so pretty. Such a genius idea that each of these plate collections has their own girl featured on the front, and that they all have special names. Like the Sci-fi girl is called Lilu. Cute.

Do these plates fit in the Bundlemonster plate storage?

If the Moyou-London plates did not have the white backing, they would slip into the sleeves in the Bundlemonster plate storage, as you can see on this picture. So as for how to store them, I would suggest using the boxes/sleeves they come in, or a baseball card holder, or the binders made for these sized plates

How large are the designs/plate?

Here you see a standard Konad plate over the Moyou-London plate. It's 2 mm wider than the Konad one. On the plates that has full nail images like the Sci-fi Collection, the images are the same size as the Konad ones.

But which plates did you get?

Kidding, I got stills for you.
Often when I see people buying plates, I often wonder, what made you buy this specific plate (on in the case where someone buys ALL THE PLATES). So, I will stop after each plate and let you know what i think.

Scholar Collection Plate 01. I have been wanting a plate like this for a while. I'm quite nerdy and just love this mathematical plate. You got equations, pie, Pythagoras, did I mention pie?

This plate really was a no-brainer, I had to have it. Fairytale Collection plate 08.  The prince and the princess. As a HUGE Disney fan, this plate was shouting at me. I love the roses, the swirlies, the different royal embroiderer designs. So pretty.

Scholar Collection 02. I wanted to buy the entire Scholar Collection. I love books, and this plate really has it all. Quotes from Romeo and Juliet, ink spatters, a little Alice in Wonderland, and a feather pen. Writer to be or not, this is such a pretty plate. Those ink splats can also be used as blood splats, you know. Endless opportunities. As supplements the Fairytale Collection plate very well.

Last but not least. The Sci-Fi Collection 06. This was the only plate in the Sci-fi collection i really felt the need to have. The rest of the collection is very childish, and not really my style. I feel that my Cheeky Summer Collection plates covered that area well enough for me. This plate has everything a computer geek needs to do her nails appropriate to her hobbies. You have motherboard designs and all sort of things. Awesome! This is a 1337 - plate.
