Stamping Nail Art - Super Placa B - Apipila

I received the sticky marshmallow stamper and scraper, of my own choosing, free of charge for my honest, non-bias review from the Born Pretty Store.

Today I have for you a stamping nail art look using the Super Placa B - Apipila stamping plate.

I started out with one coat of Sally Hansen - 85 - Diamonds and Rubies. This polish takes three (!) coats for full opacity, but since I was topping it with another polish I only used one coat.

Then I took Star Gazer - 315, and painted all nails with this gorgeous burgundy glass fleck polish using one coat.

I grabbed my Super Placa B - Apipila stamping plate, Wet n Wild - Black Creme, and my sticky marshmallow stamper and scraper from BornPrettyStore.

Since the image I had picked out for today's design has a lot of thin lines, I wanted to use this stamper as I find that the sticky stampers does a lot better job at grabbing it all and transferring it to my nails.

When stamping with sticky marshmallow stampers I prefer using a rolling motion as to avoid any warping of the image, I have yet to perfect using them.  I really like this stampers, and if you don't have a sticky marshmallow stamper already I would highly recommend getting one. You can get one at BornPrettyStore for $ 5.99, and at the time of writing this it is on sale for $ 3.59. What sticky marshmallow stampers are good for:
- Making small images fit larger nails. Stretching.
- Making larger images fit smaller nails. Shrinking.

- Conform to curves. (As I have very curved nails, this is a must)

If you take good care of it, it will last for a long time. So do not use acetone remover, only lint rollers or tape, and place it safe in a box between manicures. 

I am thinking about doing a rundown over all the different stamper heads that I have, and what they do best. It's a lot of work, so we will see about that.

All bits are created equal

I am not going all political on you here today, but this statement is true. There has been a lot of talk about Net Neutrality in the medias lately, and I wanted to make a manicure that would be fitting for the topic.

I wore this manicure for the Bristol Comic Con this weekend, and I was dressed as R2D2. It was a lot of fun.

I decided to use Maybelline - Street Artist -  Alley Attitude for this manicure, there as been a lot of searching on my page for this polish, so I decided it was about time I use it for something, and not just have a swatch on my page.

I also used MoYou-London Sci-Fi collection plate 06, and Sally Hansen - Diamonds and Rubies.  I think you can all guess one of the images I choose from this plate.

Sally Hansen - Diamonds and Rubies

Recently I bought Sally Hansen - Diamonds and Rubies at my local Factory Shop. It was only £1, a bargain. This is one of those incrdible "high shine" polishes.

To cover completely I used two coats, application was smooth. Thin brush, and the polish glided on. It didn't flare out as some brushes does.  

 

I'm going to do something I normally don't do. I'm going to show the pictures and then talk some more. 

 

As you can see from these swatches the polish is so shiny and reflective that you can see people in my nails. I took these pictures while I was on a shopping trip to town, and the sun came out for a little bit, and for these nails, I NEEDED proper sun pictures. When I got back home, the sun was gone again, so these where the bests ones I got.
It was so cool, I could see my own reflection in my nails. Epic.

I was wearing my 50's dress with this manicure, and got loads of compliments for the matching. Got stopped by people asking if I where going somewhere particulare. I was just on a shopping trip in town, and felt like wearing something pretty.
Nothing special at all. Sometimes that's the fun. Dressing up, just to be dressed up, and not for an occation.
